I used the Dual Senses Color Extra Rich to maintain the perfect color and protection from visit to visit. Remember your client may desire a lighter service but may be hesitant from past experience when they had a blonde that was not the correct shade. Ask questions to understand how light is light in their mind; this puts a spin to it, and customizes the experience.

From straightening to texture to brilliant colour, we needed products that performed a range of functions to achieve the declension of fringes and ponytails. The L’Oréal Professionel’s Techni.Art styling products including the Tenchi.Art Fix Design Directional Fixing Say was perfect for our collection because we were able to achieve several looks.

A stitching technique tamed volume on one side and causes an explosion of volume on the other. Creating multiple textures for each individual look has given this style story two great endings.

In creating a high, sleek look the hair was prepped with Wella Extra Volume mousse, then Wella SP Luxe Oil lightly sprayed to get the sheen. For the plaited hair, Sebastian Gel Forte was used in creating the plaits, while a mix of Wella Professionals Extra Volume Mouse was used along with Stay Firm hair spray was used through rest of hair.

We used Matrix Vavoom Design Pulse Switch-Flicks Wax to create the mohawk effect. We used a minimal amount to ensure the look did not look overdone or pulled done with product. It was a case of running the product through the hair vertically. The finish on our looks was extremely important to ensure the colour looks the best it can, giving a better effect. Once the look was finished we lightly sprayed Matrix Design Plus Mix-In Shine over the hair to give the beautiful shine. When creating certain looks in this collection we used Matrix Total Results Amplify Volume Proforma Firm Hold Spray. It not only holds the style in place but also gives a textured effect, something many other products cannot do.

With notions from the 20’s, 50’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s – The Independent collection pioneers editorial craftsmanship with inspiring shapes that are structured with American Crew styling products including American Crew’s Defining Paste, Grooming Spray and Ultramatte. Each haircut from the collection features three distinctly different finishes proving that a masterful haircut can have multiple personalities in the cleverest of ways.

The Joico range leaves the hair looking natural and unspoiled while maintaining strength of shape and balance. For the cropped blonde look, Joico’s lotion was applied before blowdrying then Joico Matte Grip was used to shape the finished style. The K-Pac Colour therapy and Power Gel provided added shine for the curled style.

Osis + Mess Up gave a choppy rough style definition, along with an ultra-matte finish. The Blow & Go Smooth gave the looks an incredible sleek finish and a gentle hold, while the Grip Volume Mousse offered long lasting style control.

We wanted to reinforce our brand identity, which is primarily beautiful with a fashion-focused edge, taking inspirations from the catwalk and blending with beautiful colour work. To create the Sonic Curve Look, after the hair was blow-dried straight, Sebastian Re-Shaper was applied and the roots were bent at the top using a small flat iron. A horizontal part at the front of the hairline with a cylindrical form pinned into place. Sebastian Texture Maker was sprayed at the roots and hair was back-brushed and was fixed into place over the over the form.
