1. The Mysterious Miracurl
We couldn’t actually get a photo of this new tool from BabylissPRO, but we managed to snag a brochure. The tool has curl chamber that creates precise, smooth curls for any length or hair type. We can’t wait to try it out later this year!
2. Up-and-coming hairstyling stars
Congratulations are in order for Alexandria Borg and Ziad el-Zoor! Each won an education voucher worth $1,000 as winners of the Wella Professionals Student Competition. Borg took home the top prize for Wella Professionals, while el-Zoor won for Sebastian. Seven finalists in each category competed on the Wella stage.
Congratulations also go out to Elshadai Erbeto from McKinnon Hair Design in Hamilton, Ont. who was the Canadian winner of the 2013 Revlon Professional Style Masters contest. She’ll be competing in Spain at the International Style Masters competition in Madrid at the end of April. Good luck Elshadai!
3. Texture Nail Lacquer from China Glaze
We got a sneak peek at China Glaze’s Texture Nail Lacquer, being released in April/May of this year in bright, punchy colours for summer. The texture reminds us of sand on a beach, and it’s sure to be a hit with nail savvy clients this season.
4. Enzo Milano Hot Iron Holster
The Enzo Milano Hot Iron Holster is every stylist’s answer to portable thermal storage. It holds up to 21 lbs, withstands 500F heat, and is available in two sizes for professional and home use. It also adheres to any non-porous surface, from glass to wood to steel, making it virtually adaptable to any styling environment.
5. Elin Bianco Hair Perfume
Today’s modern woman wants to make her blowout last, and this beautifully packaged, alcohol-free Hair Perfume offers a fresh way to breathe life into second (or third) day unwashed hair. It would make a great edition to the retail wall at any salon.
6. Bex Professional Heat Deep Crimper
The crimper continues its comeback! The new Bex Professional Heat Deep Crimper creates a very on-trend texture that is super popular with stylists right now. You can also use it on clients with thin hair to create volume at the roots without teasing.
