Hairstylists, salon owners and the industry’s leading artists rendezvoused in Niagara Falls, Ontario last weekend for Venus Beauty Supplies’ Venus VIP 2016 event. Held at Sheraton on the Falls (talk about a gorgeous view!), the event featured stage presentations and demonstrations from Revlon Professional, UNITE, Moroccanoil, Peter Coppola, Schwarzkopf Professional and REUZEL.
Opening to a cocktail reception and manis by CND, the first night was full of inspiration and a pretty big surprise from Revlon Professional.
On Sunday night, Marlo Steenman, Revlon Professional Guest Artist, 2015 NAHA Colour Winner and Contessa 2017 Semi-Finalist (and breathe), took the stage to showcase creative colour techniques using Revlon Professional Nutri Color Creme and Cromatics. Offering tips on salon-friendly colour melting techniques and getting real with stylists about overcoming whatever is holding them back from getting out from behind the chair, Steenman had the room laughing and feeling inspired.
Joining her was Jean-Sebastien Chalut, Revlon Professional Global Master Artist, who offered tips on creative styling techniques using the Revlon Professional Style Masters line. Chalut also announced the upcoming Revlon Professional Style Master 2017 International Contest and dished out some expert advice for attendees interested in competing.
The night ended with a surprise announcement by Kirsten McIntosh, Technical Development Specialist for Revlon Professional—warning: you’re going to be jealous you missed this—of the official North American launch of the Revlon Professional pARTy Collection with a Venus VIP-only after party. Featuring live models (with killer hair, heels and nails, may we add), dancers, cocktails and plenty of food, attendees basically received the VIP treatment from Revlon Pro.
For those able to make it out of bed the next morning (surprisingly quite a few!), McIntosh and Chalut hit the stage again to show off some salon-friendly pARTy Collection looks featuring structure, texture and lust-worthy, dimensional colour. (Pro tip: To pump up colour, on anything a level 4 or higher, use a booster like Cromatics and play around with it.)
Venus VIP attendees also had the chance to talk one-on-one with manufacturers, educators and artists and get the details on all the new products and promos hitting the market. Pro tips and presentations from UNITE, Moroccanoil, Schwarzkopf Professional, Peter Coppola and REUZEL were another highlight of the weekend, in addition to some pretty hefty swag bags.
