Watching the runways is always a source of inspiration, whether it’s for styles to offer to clients, or to start ideas for your next editorial collection. To help translate haute hair into the everyday at the salon, Dee Dagher, Rowenta Beauty lead stylist, offers two step-by-step styles inspired by the shows around the world.
Runway Beach Waves from Yves Saint Laurent
Step 1: Taking large sections, wrap the hair around a curling iron barrel, such as the Rowenta Beauty Versa Style, being sure to leave out the tail end—about one inch.
Step 2: After finishing all the curls, flip head upside down and toss with fingers or brush out with a bristle brush.
Step 3: Spray hair with a beach texturizing spray, being sure to coat all the hair. Scrunch with hands.
The Top Knot from Lanvin
Step 1: Smooth hair with a flat iron, such as Rowenta Beauty Professional Titanium Ceramic Flat Iron.
Step 2: Using a bristle brush, comb all the hair smoothly up into a high ponytail and secure with an elastic band.
Step 3: Backcomb the ponytail with the same brush, just enough to inflate the hair and create texture.
Step 4: Smooth out the surface on the outer side of the ponytail, ensuring to not completely comb out.
Step 5: Wrap the hair into a bun and secure with bobby pins, and spray with finishing spray to add long-lasting hold.
