This year’s awards season kicked off on Sunday, January 7, 2018 with the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards. Unlike past years the 2018 red carpet and awards ceremony took a more sombre note, with a vast majority of the night’s attendees donning all-black attire to show their support for the #TimesUp and #MeToo movements, which support the victims of sexual assault, harassment and inequality in the workplace. Here’s a recap of our favourite looks of the night.
Millie Bobby Brown

Saoirse Ronan
“Ravishing and luminous, Saoirse Ronan’s short hair pinned in the back looked magnificent in a golden shade of blonde, and was perfectly paired with an Atelier Versace long gown sporting substantial shoulder pads.” — Yasmin Grothé, editor-in-chief (French)
Kerry Washington
“Always recognized for her fashion-forward red carpet looks, Kerry Washington paired her voluminous beach waves with a strapless black-sequined Prabal Garung dress. Her choice of embellished booties and bold makeup (including Ultra Violet purple eyeliner for a take on this year’s Pantone Colour of the Year) elevated the basic-black ensemble for a rock-star glam look.” — Veronica Boodhan, managing editor
Katherine Langford
“Katherine Langford brought Old Hollywood back to the red carpet with a modern-day take on Marilyn Monroe, with sideswept waves adorned with sparkly hair accessories in the back. With rhinestones also accentuating her black deep V-neckline Prada gown, the 13 Reasons Why star truly did give us 13 reasons to love this look!” — Lucy Mazzucco, digital editorial coordinator
Margot Robbie

Kate Hudson
“Known for usually sporting her signature long blonde locks in beach waves, Kate Hudson continues to rock a super-short cut since shaving her head last year for an upcoming movie role. Hudson’s textured pixie was paired with a chic thin black velvet headband, and her makeup was kept fresh and feminine with a smoky eye and bold pink lip.” — Veronica Boodhan, managing editor
Halle Berry
“A longer, wispier fringe and hair tied at the nape with some strategically placed lowlights was all Halle Berry needed to accessorize a lace plunging neckline at the 2018 Golden Globes.” — Yasmin Grothé, editor-in-chief (French)
Kendall Jenner
“Kendall Jenner’s simple, short textured style put a spotlight on her dramatic black Giambattista Valli ballgown, making her overall look bold and daring for the Golden Globes red carpet.” — Lucy Mazzucco, digital editorial coordinator
