British actress Carey Mulligan gave us a beautiful and glamorous look for this year’s Met Gala wearing a custom Valentino bubblegum pink gown. To contrast the bold gown, celebrity hairstylist Kylee Heath drew inspiration from the classic hairstyles of Audrey Hepburn to complete this modern yet classic look. Check out how to recreate these looks for your clients.
Get the look:
STEP 1: Heath started on damp hair by applying the Hair Rituel by Sisley-Paris Volumizing Spray throughout the roots and ends.
STEP 2: She then mixed the Hair Rituel by Sisley-Paris La Crème 230 with a small amount of Hair Rituel by Sisley-Paris Precious Hair Care Oil in her hands and applied the formula to the mid-shaft through the ends.
STEP 3: Once the hair was prepped, Heath dried Mulligan’s hair with the Olivia Garden Ceramic + Ion Hair Dryer and Olivia Garden ThermoVent Round Brush in size 2 1⁄2 to dry hair sleek and with volume at the root.
STEP 4: Next, Heath started at Mulligan’s bangs and the top section of hair using the Olivia Garden ThermoVent Round Brush in size 1 3⁄4 to add bend to her bangs so they rested across her forehead.
STEP 5: Heath then sectioned the remaining hair into three sections with the Olivia Garden CarboSilk Comb and pulled the back section into a ponytail securing it with an elastic. Once the back section was tied-up, she teased the crown and smoothed the side part pulling both sides into the ponytail.
STEP 6: To finish off the look, Heath teased the ponytail all over to ensure volume. She then lightly combed over the top of the ponytail to create that smooth and polished look.
