TikTok star turned actor Addison Rae shined last night on the red carpet for the premiere of her new movie, “He’s All That”. Celebrity hairstylist Ryan Richman drew inspiration from the classic beauty of 1980s and 90s supermodels to create these voluminous and effortless waves. We have step-by-step details from Richman on how to recreate this glamorous look for your clients.

Step 1: “I prepped towel dried hair with UNITE’s ELEVATE Mousse from roots to ends to create buildable volume throughout the style. Then, I rough dried the roots with a blow dryer and my fingertips by lifting the hair up off of the scalp for maximum volume. To finish drying, I used a medium round brush with the blow dryer concentrator nozzle attached and rolled the brush from ends to base to create bounce and volume.”
Step 2: “Using a 1.5” curling iron I added some waves in alternating directions while taking imperfect sections so that the style wasn’t too perfect and smooth.”
Step 3: “After adding some shape, I sprayed UNITE’s TEXTURIZA Texturizing Spray focusing at the root and used my hand to shake out the wave for a tousled voluminous finish.”
Step 4: “Using a fine tooth comb, I backcombed around the face to give long lasting root lift for that supermodel style and sprayed UNITE’s Lé:Play Hairspray to hold the style in place but making sure it will be pliable enough that the hair can move and be touched.”
