This past spring, salon owners, stylists and beauty pros gathered at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia for Maritime Beauty’s Maritime Inspiration.
The two-day event was held on May 15-16, and filled with educational presentations, live competitions and interactive booths, and featured artists and educators from brands including Redken, Matrix and Biolage, Moroccanoil, Design.ME and Pulp Riot.
The show also featured a special stage performance by Halifax-based drag queen, Rouge Fatale.
Redken
Trisha Parker, Gregory Kennedy and Craig MacEachern demonstrated new colour trends and techniques for maximum effect in less time, as well as how to master easy colour and design techniques.
Matrix and Biolage
Heidi Kenney and Rodrigo Araneda took the floor for Matrix and Biolage to showcase the latest trends in hair colour and cuts for the summer, as well as how to use Biolage’s ColorBalm to introduce innovative salon service techniques.
Moroccanoil
Moroccanoil team members Lisa Dinh and Sarah Gazie demonstrated techniques for creating the “perfect” blondes and how to refine your toning skills.
Design.ME
Amy Stollmeyer and Sarah Heath showcased the brand’s PUFF.ME Volume, BOUNCE.ME Curl and GLOSS.ME Hydration and Shine.
Pulp Riot
Thomas Melong showed creative colour placements using the brand’s Semis and Faction8.
