A Weekend of Excitement at the Matrix National Sales Meeting

Approximately 250 distributors and industry professionals gathered in Montreal last weekend for Matrix’s National Sales Meeting 2020 Matrix & Biolage. From company announcements to upcoming launches, Matrix pulled out all the stops to get the crowd excited for their 2020 plans.

The two-day event was kicked off on February 9^th and attendees got exclusive access to company-wide announcements, ongoing projects and product unveilings, including the launch of their new online educational platform, Access and of course, an awards ceremony on the last night to recognize top performers in the industry.

Talented award recipients included: three-time winner Tina Blais from Cosmoprof, Consultant of the Year for Matrix and Biolage on national and regional levels; Maritime Beauty, Distributor of the Year; and Beaute Star, formerly Star Bédard, Best Store Color Growth.

Outside of new products, a big focal point from the weekend was their theme “Dare to Lead,” which even applied to their cutting-edge environmental contributions. Their green brand Biolage will be celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and they shared their plans of maintaining and growing their clean and eco-friendly production practices, along with announcing some exciting new launches that will be rolling out in the next few months.

Matrix as a whole will also be continuing to optimize their packaging to ensure it’s recyclable, as well as reducing their carbon emissions and water consumption (Did you know? They’ve currently reduced their carbon footprint by 77 per cent and water usage by 48 per cent). Nadia Petrolito, the vice-president, GC, CCO & ethics correspondent for L’Oréal proudly announced that Matrix is one of the first carbon-neutral companies in North America.

And, of course, every NSM wouldn’t be complete without a fun celebration! This year’s event included a dance party at Studio54 on the opening night, and to wrap up the weekend, a glamorous gala and their awards ceremony followed by an after-party!
