More than 300 hundred salon owners, hairstylists and distributors gathered at the Matrix National Sales Meeting and Education Excel ME in Niagara Falls, Ont. this past weekend.
Pierre-Luc Berude, Matrix Canada’s General Manager kicked off the event with a welcome celebrating the brand’s achievements and officially announcing the distinction between the Biolage and Matrix brands. Biolage was a significant focus for the first day when Jessifée Guité, Matrix Canada’s Director of Marketing shared the upcoming launches for Biolage including Colorlast shampoo, R.A.W. Scalp, and three Deep Treatments.
Sunday afternoon’s breakout sessions included separate motivational presentations for sales and education teams. Matrix Canada’s education team members including Alex Chabot, Rodrigo Araneda, Heidi Kenney, Darek Wierzbicki, Derek Rutherford and Julio Rodriguez, shared the details of their career paths and what keeps them inspired today. In addition, the education team shared details about the brand’s new Excel MEEducation, a customized program for different levels of education opportunities from regional to national.
Day two focused on the Matrix brand with Guité providing an overview of the brad’s expanded portfolios including what is ahead for SoColor Cult, Fast Toners and the Total Results lines. Members of the Matrix Canadian Education and Artistic team took a seat on the Matrix Talk Show to discuss all things celebrity hair colour, with their take on how to achieve these looks with the Matrix colour lineup.
Afternoon sessions on both days included hands on colour education session for the brand’s educators covering topics including balayage techniques, vibrant colour and creating photo ready looks. For some educators, two also included an afternoon working with live models and a surprise onsite photoshoot with Matrix Educators Derek Rutherford and Darek Wierzbicki.
From Biolage to Matrix, it looks like an exciting year ahead for these iconic brands.
