At the 34th annual Contessa Awards, the Matrix Canada artistic team was led by artistic director and Contessa-winning hairstylist Rodrigo Araneda to produce a spectacular presentation that celebrated three classic hairstyles. The presentation featured a wide range of diverse models and hair types to place an emphasis on the importance of inclusion in the beauty industry. Araneda and the team aimed to celebrate ponytails, braids and texture as three iconic hairstyles while demonstrating that by starting with a simple idea, beautiful things can be created. From long to short hair and updos to afros, the presentation featured bold colours, gender-neutral styles and statement-making textures.
