Returning to its first live, in-person show since the pandemic, the 2023 Contessa Awards gala was opened by a show-stopping presentation by Toronto-based Contessa award-winning hairstylist Norm Wright. This futuristic presentation, titled Kinetic, was inspired by the work of fashion designer Iris van Herpen and sculptor Anthony Howe, and is motivated by the idea that originality isn’t dead. Wright merges the elements of 3D printing and metalwork to create something our audience has never seen before on the Contessa stage. This presentation inspires our industry to think outside of the box and to continue growing and learning new skills.
