As we’re all slowly making our way through the COVID-19 pandemic, more salons are preparing to reopen and are getting ready to tackle their client’ hair concerns.
To help rescue hair in time for summer, Redken is growing its beloved Extreme haircare line with two new trios: Extreme Bleach Recovery and Extreme Length.
The brand shared the news over Zoom, hosting interactive panels with their Canadian brand ambassadors Celene Dupuis and Cindy Duplantis.
The Extreme Length line, which consists of a shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatment, is packed with Biotin, soy protein and castor oil and helps prevent breakage and repair split ends—and in turn, helps to promote stronger and healthier hair growth.
With the COVID-19 pandemic, more men and women have been forced to grow out their hair. Duplantis says that these new products are great for clients to keep on-hand, just in case they ever want to delay their next cut, while still having ends that look and feel healthy.
Redken’s Extreme Length helps smoothen hair, seal damaged split ends and reduce breakage by 81 per cent. And with repeat use, it can help hair grow up to six inches in just one year!
The new Extreme Bleach Recovery line consists of Shampoo, Lamellar Water and Leave-In Treatment, which work together to help prevent damage and dryness caused by hair lightening.
As more salons reopen, Dupuis says that stylists are getting prepared for the number of “quarantine colour” corrections they’re going to have to face, and recommends the trio of products for clients who might be concerned about hair damage.
Inspired by Korean skincare, this line is formulated with Centella Asiatica (CICA), a medicinal Asian herb that is known for its protective and healing qualities. When infused into haircare, it helps the cuticle regenerate cells for smoother and softer results. This trend of using popular skincare ingredients in haircare is being referred to as “skinnification,” which Dupuis predicts will be quite popular throughout the next few months.
The Lamellar Water is being dubbed as a “liquid bandaid,” and is packed with cataionic polymers, which condition the hair cuticles and fill in any porosity to make it stronger and more manageable.
The Leave-In Treatment helps nourish and hydrate hair from the inside-out—something that’s a must for colourists who are known for taking their clients’ hair to the most extreme levels!
The full Extreme Length Line is already available and the Bleach Recovery line will be released in August.
