Are your clients interested in experimenting with exciting hair trends for the Holiday season? We have step-by-step details from Sam Villa ArTeam Member Anna Peters, on how to create a trendy faux shag look for your clients. “This is a fun look because you can create it on almost any hair length, it’s really all about the pinning of the texture to create a cool shape,” says Peters. “If your guest’s hair doesn’t hold curl well, use a smaller iron for a tighter curl pattern, it will hold better.”
Get the Look: Faux Shag
Step 1. Prep the root and mid shaft with a Texturizing Iron to add volume and expand hair.
Step 2. Curl the prep section by wrapping hair around a one-inch curler in a spiral fashion. Secure with a clip to cool and set.
Step 3. Remove clips and allow curls to fall freely. Using a paddle brush, brush hair up and twist on top of head.
Step 4. Repeat on opposite side and secure with bobby pins.
Step 5. Once secured, gently separate curls with fingers.
