Chatters Hair Salon ambassador and celebrity hairstylist Cindy Duplantis has created two glamorous up-do looks just in time for the holidays. Whether you’re styling your clients for the holidays or you’re planning on attending a couple of parties of your own, we have a step-by-step guide on how to recreate these trendy looks for the season.
Get the Look: Braided Chignon
Step 1: This is another great look for in-between washes! Start by spraying hair with Dry Shampoo. This will help absorb excess oil and will give hair extra grip in preparation for your braid.
Step 2: Create an inch section down the middle of the hair to start the Dutch Braid.
Step 3: Split the hair into three equal sections. Cross the left strand under the middle strand. Then cross the right strand under the middle. Repeat by adding hair to each outer strand. Repeat until the end of the hair and tie it with an elastic.
Step 4: Gather all the hair together into one ponytail.
Step 5: Twist and wrap the pony around the elastic and secure it with bobby pins. Leave out the ends for added texture.
Step 6: Pull out two fringe pieces. Curl the two fringe pieces using a Flat Iron. This will help give a loose, effortless curl.
Step 7: Finish the look with a smooth & shine serum.
Get the Look: Dreamy Updo
Step 1: Wash hair with a Colour Protecting Shampoo to help keep your colour vibrant (don’t forget to double wash to remove any extra build up!).
Step 2: Follow with a Intensive Treatment to deep condition and give your hair extra moisture.
Step 3: On damp hair, apply a Styling Cream.
Step 4: Take the triangle section out of the fringe and brush the remaining hair into a high pony and secure it with an elastic.
Step 5: Round brush the triangle section with the blow dryer. Split the fringe section down the middle and pin down the side.
Step 6: At the ends of the ponytail, take an inch-sized section, give a curl with a Curling Iron. Repeat until the ponytail is done. Allow it to cool.
Step 7: Brush out each curl to create maximum volume.
Step 8: Take the front section of the ponytail and lay it down flat with bobby pins. Lay the end pieces over the forehead to create “fake” bangs.
Step 9: Pin the remaining ponytail pieces, pin them forward to create extra high volume. Be sure to hide those bobby pins!
Step 10: Finish your look with a Smoothing Spray to smooth out any frizzy areas & add extra shine.
