John Paul Mitchell Systems (JPMS) has recently appointed renowned hairstylist and educator Stephen Moody as their artistic director.
As an award-winning stylist and with more than 30 years of experience as a Sassoon veteran and nine years of working with other professional hair brands, including Wella Professionals, Moody has developed and managed academies worldwide, and has led the Sassoon artistic team, supported product development, hosted education, trained educators and developed seasonal hair trends. Throughout his career, Moody has developed education to help other salon professionals in many aspects of their careers.
“Bringing Stephen on board, with his globally recognized name, reputation and strength in educating, reinforces our commitment of support to the professional salon community,” says Jason Yates, president of JPMS. “As a fellow hairstylist and educator, I have known Stephen to always be relatable, approachable, and full of fresh ideas. He is a perfect cultural fit for JPMS, and we could not be happier to have him in a leadership role with our artistic team.”
In his role, Moody joins the brand’s other artistic directors—Robert Cromeans, Colin Caruso, Paula Peralta and John Mosley—as well as editorial director Noogie Thai to help create seasonal trend reports while developing curricula for hairstylists and leading the development of an education program, which will be held at the new Paul Mitchell Professional Academy in Santa Monica, California.
“I am thrilled to join JPMS, a company whose heritage and commitment is fully aligned with mine—dedicated to helping hairdressers excel in their craft and enjoy a highly successful career,” says Moody.
