Access to top-notch education often comes with a hefty price tag. Plus, with travel restrictions and booking time away from the salon, education isn’t always the most accessible for all hairstylists.
With this in mind, Matrix has launched their new Mentor.Me for All program!
As an extension of their 2021 Mentor.Me program, stylists will now have access to education from some of the brand’s leading hairstylists from around the world.
“Mentor.Me for All is a program designed to give back to our community,” says Joshua Balint, national education & events director. “It’s not about the brand as much as it’s about all students and stylists in our industry. We know that education is not always something that’s as accessible for some, compared to others, and we also know that in tough times not everyone can afford
taking classes. What’s important for us is that we give all students and stylists in Canada an opportunity to receive outstanding education at no charge and also provide them education to help them stay relevant, inspired and confident when behind the chair.”
The virtual classes will be held via Zoom and each class will be taught by a different Matrix artist, showcasing a range of cutting, colouring and styling techniques on a range of hair textures, diameters and lengths for a diverse and inclusive educational experience.
“This program is not only in place for Matrix users, but users of any brand and also at any level in their career,” says Balint. “We at Matrix want to give back to our community through our education and will do what we can to elevate our industry as a whole.”
Attendees will also have the opportunity to learn at their own pace, since all classes will be recorded and saved for future viewing.
So if you’ve ever wanted to learn from a world-renowned educator without having to leave the comfort of your own home, this is your opportunity! The first class begins on Monday, February 28th at 12 p.m. EST with the one and only, Philip Wolff. The award-winning celebrity stylist, salon owner and educator who has more than 730 thousand followers on Instagram is known for his haircut transformations and will be sharing his tips for on-trend cutting techniques, proper sectioning, styling and more!
As for the upcoming Mentor.Me for All classes, Matrix has lined up their global artistic director Michelle O’Connor, who will be teaching all about hair diversity with tips and tricks on how to work with different hair textures. The brand has also scheduled classes with artists Eric Vaughn, Sarmad Najem and George Papanikolas for education about hair colour and blonding.
